The institute is member of several research consortia and is engaged in cooperations with multiple organisations from industry and academia world-wide.
Through our numerous EU FP7 and H2020 projects we collaborate with a wide range of European partners from power systems to ICT.
Our participation in the Center for Wind Drives (CWD) is an example of interdisciplinary collaboration within RWTH.
Further cross-institute collaboration resulted in SENSE (Smart Energy Services) as interdisciplinary cooperation between mechanical engineering (institute EBC) and electrical engineering (institute ACS) for research in the area of smart city.
The Research Initiative "Future Electrical Networks" (FEN) builds a growing consortium between RWTH institutes and industry.
Furthermore, we have well established collaborations with the Universities of Padoa (I), Trieste (I), Cagliari (I), Polytecnico di Milano (I) as well as University of South Carolina (US) and Queensland University of Technology (AUS) for common research contributions as well as exchange of researchers.
