RWTH Science Night 2016
The “RWTH Science Night” has been taking place every year now since 2003 in the Kármán Auditorium, on the second Friday in November, and always welcomes numerous guests. The idea behind the Science Night is to present science in an unusual way and at an unusual time.

Again this year the E.ON Energy Research Center was present at the RWTH Science Night. This year the Science Night took place on Friday, November 11, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the SuperC, Kármán-Auditorium, main building and Audimax of the RWTH Aachen University. After many successful evenings in the years before, the RWTH hosted many guest this year.
E.ON ERC at the Science Night 2016
The E.ON ERC gave an exhibit at the Science Night from 7:00 p.m. till 12:00 p.m. at the SuperC, Templergraben 57, at the 6th floor about the energy supply in the future.
Why can’t I open the refrigerator in my kitchen at summer to cool the room? Electric current from the earth - how can that work? Why do we need most energy in our households? How does electricity come from a spinning wind turbine into the outlet? As versatile as the questions are, is the research at E.ON Energy Research Center about the energy supply of the future.
Furthermore, there was a presentation by the E.ON ERC about the cooperation possibilities of the ERC for geophysics, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering and energy economics for the energy revolution. The presentation was from 9:00 p.m. till 10:30 p.m. at the SuperC, Templergraben 57, Generali-Saal, on the 6th floor. The presentation was hold by professor Madlener.
This year the E.ON Energy Research Center of the RWTH Aachen University celebrates its 10th anniversary. During this years the Center developed to one of the most important research centers in Europe. After this 10 years of research the five institutes of the E.ON ERC will give an inside view about their work and researches about the energy revolution in Germany. The focus will be on practical examples of energy supply of tomorrow.
