Junior Research Group Leader: "Design and Verification of Control and Protection in DC Systems” & Team Leader Advanced Control Methods for Power Systems and HiL
Ilka Jahn received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. In 2015, she was with ABB Corporate Research in Sweden. She received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2021. From 2022, she has been a junior research group leader hosted by the Institute for Automation of Complex Power Systems, RWTH. She is secretary of CIGRE WG B4.85 on interoperability in HVDC systems based on partially open-source software and receiver of the 2022 CIGRE Next Generation Network Significant Contribution Award. She is also a member of the IEEE PES Task Force on Innovative Teaching Methods for Modern Power and Energy Systems and the steering board of the Center for Young Academics at RWTH Aachen University. Her main research interests are the control and protection of HVDC systems, power systems dominated by power electronic converters, and innovative software solutions.
