The objective of IElectrix project is to develop innovative technical solutions to facilitate the implementation of Local Energy Communities and expediate the integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in the distribution networks in Europe and in India. The project brings together 15 European partners and 1 Indian partner in order to experiment, through 5 real-scale demonstrators, the technical and economical relevance of LEC in different regulatory and ecosystem contexts. The demonstrators are led by 4 European DSOs (Energie Güssing, E.dis, E.on EED and Enedis) and deployed in four different countries: Austria, Germany, Hungary and India.

Objectives and ambitions

  • The Increase RES integration into the network
  • Connect Local Energy Communities to MV & LV networks
  • To Build flexible and smart micro-grids
  • The Increase grid resilience and thereby security of supply
  • To Improve consumers’ involvement (prosumers)
  • Develop innovative and sustainable technical solutions and business model
