Further Information

The project “OneNet” (One Network for Europe) is funded through the EU’s eighth Framework Programme Horizon 2020 titled “TSO – DSO Consumer: Large-scale demonstrations of innovative grid services through demand response, storage and small-scale (RES) generation” and responds to the call “Building a low-carbon, climate-resilient future (LC)”.

The scope of OneNet is to create a fully replicable and scalable architecture that enables the whole European electrical system to operate as a single system in which a variety of markets allows the universal participation of stakeholders regardless of their physical location – at every level from small consumer to large producers.

  OneNet Concepts

ACS will be involved in all the WP of the project. Major effort will be placed in the leadership for technical TSO-DSO-Customer integration. In addition, ACS will bring in its ICT experience for the development of an open IT Architecture for OneNet and the reference IT implementation. The key scientific research areas of ACS institute are the following:

  • Future power grids as cyber-physical infrastructures,
  • Electrical power distribution and utilization in building, neighbourhoods and urban energy systems,
  • ICT solutions for advanced energy services and interoperability,
  • Distributed monitoring and control of electrical power grids, and
  • Advanced simulation methods based on High Performance Computing.

14/12/2023

The last General Assembly of OneNet took place on 14-15.12 in a hybrid model and was hosted by E-REDES at Porto, Portugal. Juan Galeano and Iveliva Stoyanova represented ACS at the meeting. Licensing the OneNet software components (i.e., Connector and Middleware, Orchestration Workbench, Monitoring and Analytics Dashboards) was an important topic in which the idea is to host the OneNet Components with the Linux Foundation Energy (LFE). Among other topics, on the first day, the 3rd Advisory & Dissemination Board meeting was held, which was focused on presentations from the demonstrators (lessons learned and outcomes), and WP11 (Market and ICT) to get feedback and recommendations from the experts. Furthermore, exploitation workshops were held on both days for the demonstrators and the other WPs to establish project outcomes that could be exploited.

26/06/2023

The OneNet General Assembly in 2023, took place on 26-27.06 in a hybrid model and was hosted at Florence School of Regulation (EUI) in Florence, Italy. Juan Galeano and Iveliva Stoyanova represented ACS at the meeting. The extension of the project for 6 months and the incorporation of the partners Digital for Grids and Kaunas University of Technology were discussed. The first day was focused on WP3, WP6, and WP11 workshops and also on the exploitation of the project results. On the second day, there were workshops with the demonstrators (WP7 to WP10).

13/05/2022

The OneNet General Assembly in 2022, took place on 12-13.05 in a hybrid model and was hosted by ACS in E.ON ERC, Aachen. Maliheh Haghgoo, Sonja Happ, and Iveliva Stoyanova represented ACS at the meeting. The topic of the meeting was heavily focused on the implementation of each demonstration.

04/06/2020

On 4th June 2020, Santiago Otero (ENEL) and Carlos Madina (Tecnalia) presented the status of the H2020 CoordiNet project during an online session for energy flexibility. Subsequent to the presentations and discussions of the E.DSO flexibility experts, Gonca Gürses-Tran introduced the H2020 project OneNet, which will kick-off in autumn 2020. OneNet follows three innovation concepts:
- Integrated market place for system services
- Moving from system-centric to consumer-centric approach
- Integrated and interoperable data and platform architechture.
