Fields of activity

Johannes Fütterer heads the team building automation. The topic of his Ph.D. thesis is “tuning of PID controllers in building energy systems”. Former research aimed towards the optimization of innovative energy concepts for non-residential buildings. He conducted energy and operational monitoring, i.e. data acquisition, storage, processing and visualization, as well as towards the implementation and evaluation of advanced rule-based, adaptive, predictive, and model-predictive control methods. He recently conducts research towards the use of big data for the optimization of building energy systems. For further information please refer to Xing and LinkedIn.

Curriculum vitae

Johannes Fütterer studied industrial engineering with mayors in mechanical engineering as well as in technology and innovation management at the RWTH Aachen University and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. Since 2010, he conducts research as a research associate at the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate of the E.ON Energy Research Center at the RWTH Aachen University in the field of optimization and control for innovative energy systems. Since 2015, he is leading the team building automation.
