Robert Uhl was employed at the institute from Januar 2015 until August 2020 as research associate.

Since May 2017 he led the team "Modeling, Simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop Methods".

His areas of research at the institute have been fault detection algorithms for medium voltage DC grids, efficient modeling of of power electronic converters for transient system-level simulations, novel grid emulator concepts as well as modeling and simulation of power systems with high penetration of power electronic converters.

His dissertation is about nonlinear modeling and steady-state simulation of electrical power systems with high penetration of power electronic converters in the frequency domain.
