Development of an Analysis Method for an Energetic Determination of a City District Based on Open Source Data
The objective of the present work is to make a first approach towards the development of an automated
actual state analysis to enable a comprehensive energetic and ecologic analysis and evaluation
of a city district. Considering the current state of simulation and optimization tools in the
field of city district optimization it is noticeable that this software chain is lacking an adequate data
collection tool. Via detailed flow charts it shall be possible to detect programmable processes which
can be automated. In addition, the structure of the collected data should be able to make adequate
data available based on the requirements of the analysis outcome. Data collecting and aquisition
can be achieved in different detail levels, in which within the content of this thesis only open source
data will be used to accomplish the first step of city district analysis and evaluation. Therefore this
analysis can be applied with a fast data collection process without any authorisation required.
The objective of this Open Data Analysis (ODA) is to determine the energetic characteristics and the
consumption of industry, trade, commerce, services and private households in considering with
the spatial distribution. Furthermore the ODA tends to identify and record heating systems, energy
plants, storages and district heating networks. A consumption calculator (ODVR) based on statistics
of real specific consumption data, as well as an distribution algorithm (AVA) in order to assess the
actual state of heating and domesticwater systemswere developed to assist answering this purpose.
The ODA was applied to a reference district which includes both residential and industrial areas. A
comparison of the results by the ODA with the results of four other methods shows that the ODA
achieved equally accurate consumption data. In addition, the actual state of heating and domestic
water systems, as well as energy plants was largely specified.
